The 10th annual SouthSide Film Festival will kick off with an opening party from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 11 at Comfort Suites, 120 W. Fourth Street, Bethlehem, Pa.

The party will feature catered food, entertainment, a slideshow reflection of the festival’s 10 years, and a cash bar. Cost for the party and film is $10.

Following the party, attendees will participate in a procession to Broughal Middle School, 114 Morton St., Bethlehem, Pa. The opening night film: “Good Ol’ Freda,” about The Beatles’ devoted secretary and friend Freda Kelly, will begin at 8 p.m. in the Broughal Auditorium.

On their 1963 Christmas record, The Beatles thanked “Good Ol’ Freda,” their devoted secretary and friend. The Beatles were together for 10 years, but Freda Kelly worked for them for 11. Freda maintained her meaningful role because of her unfaltering loyalty and dedication. In one of few documentaries with the support of the living Beatles, Freda tells her stories for the first time in 50 years, offering an insider perspective on the evolution—advances and setbacks, breakthroughs and challenges—of the great band that changed the music industry.
