About the film: Binta is a 7 year old girl who lives in a small charming village on the Casamance river in southern Senegal. She goes to school. Her cousin Soda does not have the same good fortune. She is not allowed to learn about the things of the world. Binta admires her father, a humble fisherman who, concerned about the development of mankind, is determined to carry out an idea that has occurred to him.

About the Director: Javier Fesser was born in Madrid in 1964. Degree in Mass Media Communication by Universidad Complutense de Madrid. He discovers the cinema shooting films in SUPER 8 format and in 1986 sets up Linea Films, a production company specialized in publicity With the purpose of carrying out his own proJects, he found Peliculas Pendelton SA with Luis Manso in April 1992. His two firsts works, written and directed by himself, Aquel Ritmillo (1995) and EI Sec/eta de la Tlompeta (1996) have become the utmost awarded short films in the Spanish film industry In Christmas 1998 his first feature film EI Milagro de P Tinto was released and viewed by 1,300,000 spectators. In February 2003, his second movie La Gran Aventura de Mortadelo y Filemon was released, awarded with five Goya Prizes in the edition of 2004, with more than 5,500,000 spectators. Author of several 'pieces' for internet, one of them' Javi y Luci', a serie of 14 chapters, released in 2000 with more than 2 million downloads. His last work is Binta y la Gran Idea, a short film shot in Senegal in collaboration with UNICEF in order to increase solidarity for the Third World Children. Javier Fesser is one of the creators of NOTODOFILMFEST, a festival that has become a reference for the online film industry
