About the Director: Sean writes, produces and directs for screen, audio and theatre. In 1985 with collaborator Andrew Leman, he cofounded the H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society (“HPLHS” http:/ /www.cthulhulives.org). Sean wrote the adaptation of Lovecraft’s celebrated shortstory The Call of Cthulhu as a silent film and co-produced it for the HPLHS. The Call of Cthulhu has screened at more than seventy film festivals worldwide and has won numerous awards including: Les Prix Tournage (Grand Prize) — Avignon Film Festival; Audience Choice Award — Århus Festival of Independent Arts, Denmark; Best Feature — Eerie Horror Film Festival; and many others. Sean’s co-written, produced and performed in many audio projects, including the HPLHS’ very popular Dark Adventure Radio Theatre CDs, a series of 1930s-style radio plays. Sean co-founded and is currently an artistic director of Theatre Banshee, a small professional theatre in Los Angeles. He has directed twenty critically acclaimed and award-winning plays for Theatre Banshee and was recently honored with an Best Performance award from the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle for his performance in Banshee’s Of Mice and Men. Sean was born in Englewood, Colorado and lives in Southern California with his wife Leslie, son Aidan and four chinchillas. He enjoys travel and playing ice hockey. Sean received his MFA degree from the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) and a BFA in theatre from the University of Colorado at Boulder. The Whisperer in the Darkness is the first feature film Sean has directed.
